Renting with AthensCars was perfect. No hassle renting, friendly and helpful staff (Antonis was great), good prices. Car pickup directly from Heraklion terminal (no shuttle required).

When searching through comparison sites there were some great prices from other companies, but digging into those companies surfaced some terrible reviews – and the “more reputable” companies were charging twice the fee. AthensCars sat in the middle – good prices, but more importantly, great reviews.

My wife and I just needed a small car to get us to and from our hotel, and a couple of evening trips. We were given exactly that – a Toyota Aygo. As other reviews have mentioned, it was a little old (probably ~10 years by my guess), therefore not in pristine aesthetic condition, but we didn’t need anything fancy.
